Privacy Policy

The short version

Your images never leave your device. All tools on this site run entirely inside your web browser. We operate no image-processing servers, require no accounts, and collect no personal information through the tools themselves.

Images and colors

When you open an image in any tool on this site (such as the Palette Extractor, Image Color Picker, Colorblind Simulator, or Duotone Generator), the file is read directly by your browser using local JavaScript APIs. It is not uploaded, transmitted, or stored on any server. Closing the tab removes the image from memory.

Information we store locally

The site stores a small amount of data in your browser's local storage, on your device only:

This data never leaves your browser. You can erase all of it at any time by clearing your browser's site data for this website.

Server logs

Like virtually all websites, the web server that delivers these pages may keep standard access logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, timestamps) for security and operational purposes. These logs are not used to identify individual visitors and are routinely deleted.

Analytics

We measure site traffic with Koko Analytics, a privacy-friendly analytics tool that runs entirely on our own server. It records aggregate counts only — page views, visitor totals, and referring sites. It does not collect names, email addresses, IP addresses, or any other personal information, does not track you across other websites, and shares nothing with third parties.

To avoid counting the same visit twice, it sets a single first-party cookie named _koko_analytics_pages_viewed. The cookie contains only a list of pages already counted — no identifier of any kind — and expires at the end of the day. Aggregate statistics are automatically deleted after 36 months.

Advertising and cookies

This site is supported by advertising served by Google AdSense. The following disclosures apply where ads are shown:

For more detail on how Google processes data, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.

Consent (EEA, UK, and Switzerland)

If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you will be shown a consent message before any advertising cookies are set, as required by the GDPR and ePrivacy rules. You can decline personalized ads and still use every tool on this site — the tools do not depend on cookies.

Your rights

Because the tools collect no personal data, there is usually nothing for us to access, correct, or delete on your behalf — your palettes and settings live only in your own browser. Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or the California Consumer Privacy Act), you may have rights regarding data held by third parties such as advertising providers; those requests are handled by the providers under their own policies, linked above. California residents: we do not sell or share personal information as defined by the CCPA/CPRA.

Children's privacy

This site is a general-audience site and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. There are no accounts, forms, or submissions.

Changes to this policy

Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date above. Because the tools are local-first by architecture, the core promise — your images stay on your device — will not change.
